Canada Day (French: FĂȘte du Canada) is Canada's national holiday. These are celebrated in 1 July annually.

History
Canada Day celebrates a creation of the dominion of Canada through the British North America Act on 1 July 1867, uniting three British territories — the Province of Canada (southern Ontario and southern Quebec), Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick — into a federation. (Watch Canadian Confederation.)

A holiday itself was formally constituted around 1879 and was originally called Dominion Day, making reference to the American-originated term "dominion" to describe a political union, at one time after a Fathers of Confederation were hesitant to use a title like the Kingdom of Canada. A title was changed to Canada Day in 27 October 1982, largely harking of the adoption of the earlier Canada Act 1982.

These are the federal holiday celebrated by tons provincial governments & virtually all businesses through Canada. Quebec also has Moving Day on 1 July, due to the fact that virtually all leases there commence & endways that day, using several population changing residences. Inside Newfoundland and Labrador, 1 July is likewise recognised when Memorial Day and commemorates Newfoundland's heavy losses in the period of World War I in the Battle of Beaumont Hamel as part of the Battle of the Somme.

Activities
Canada Day is usually marked by loyal celebrations. Virtually all cities use at times organized celebrations, typically featuring pyrotechnic. Amusement ordinarily has the American theme.
